Youth Group “Restaurant Night” for Orphans in Uganda

1 night out Join us for Redeemer Youth Ministry’s second “Restaurant Night” benefit dinner on Saturday, March 26th to support The AIDS Orphans Support Trust (TAOST) and Rock Primary schools in Uganda. Proceeds raised from the event will fund both our youth summer mission team traveling to Uganda in July 2011, and benefit a long-term sustainable piggery (established with funds from the last restaurant night in 2009) of which a large portion of the income will support a new feeding program at the Rock Primary School.

At Restaurant Night, students and youth leaders will prepare and serve a three- course dinner including a choice of appetizer, main entrée, and dessert with coffee or tea. Location: Redeemer Church Offices 1359 Broadway, 4th Floor (between 36th & 37th) Dinner: $75 minimum donation per person (larger donations are welcome!) Please specify your choice of entrée: chicken, salmon, or vegetarian Seating at 7:00 PM: (Reservations required) Make your reservation beginning March 1: www.redeemer.com/restaurantnight Questions? 10 days in Uganda On July 14–24, our youth mission team of fourteen youth leaders and high school students will travel to Uganda to visit our partnering schools: the TAOST school in Jinja, and the Rock Primary School in Lawanda. The team will be leading English as a Second Language instruction, a Vacation Bible School program, and craft projects (batik and jewelry making) with local artisans and primary school children. 365 days of partnership There are opportunities throughout the year to support the Uganda youth mission team, and our partnership with these Ugandan schools. In December 2010, Redeemer families raised $1510 to purchase musical instruments for a choir and music program, and also for classroom items at the TAOST school. We will offer the Uganda Angel program again in December 2011. In June 2011, we will sponsor a children’s book drive to help fill bookshelves at the TAOST school’s new library. Check back with us in the spring for more information. In our effort to follow Jesus’ command to clothe the needy, and feed the hungry (Matthew 25:40), the youth group invites you to help us meet the needs of our dear friends in Uganda.
