November is Nomination Month for Elders, Deacons and Deaconesses

Are new elders, deacons and deaconesses needed?
Yes! Our church is at a critical juncture in light of our plan to establish three generative congregations to move out into the city and serve. The needs in our congregation are numerous and have been increasing. As our church continues to grow, we need your help to identify new servant-leaders.

As Redeemer’s mercy ministry, the deacons and deaconesses serve on the Diaconate and provide practical assistance to those in our congregation who are facing challenging situations (Acts 6:1-4 & 1 Timothy 3:8-13). The elders serve on the Session and provide spiritual leadership to our congregation through oversight of Redeemer ministries, leaders and members (1Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:6-9).

How can I nominate someone?
We are receiving nominations for elder, deacon and deaconess for the entire month of November. If you are a member, please prayerfully consider whether you or a fellow member you know could serve as elder, deacon or deaconess. Please read the description and qualifications of elder, deacon and deaconess.

Members have the privilege and responsibility to nominate other members to these offices. Members may not nominate themselves. You can submit a nomination online, download a nomination form or pick up a form at any service at the information center. Fax completed nomination forms to (646) 572-0020 or mail it the office at:

Redeemer Presbyterian Church
1359 Broadway, 4th fl.
New York, NY 10018

You may also place nomination forms in the offering basket during any of the Sunday worship services in November. The deadline for submitting nominations is November 30th.
