Hope for New York loves Christmas, and we know that it can be one tough season for low-income families. That’s why we have two Christmas programs: Angel Tree and His Toy Store.
These two programs have been serving low-income families in neighborhoods across New York City for many years. Here is a testimony from one of the churches in the Bronx where HFNY had a His Toy Store last year:
“Early last year a 12 year old boy started coming to Infinity Church and he really liked it. He invited his family to come to church, but no one from his family came. Then, last November he found out about His Toy Store and told his father. His father came to His Toy Store, met Pastor Dimas and starting coming to church. Pastor Dimas mentored this boy’s father; he got him a new suit, an interview and a new job. The father now comes to church early every Sunday to help set up chairs. He also brings his other sons along with him.”
Since then, the father has invited his mother and sister to the church as well.
This is just one of several ways that His Toy Store gives local churches the opportunity to reach out and establish relationships. Lasting connections are made to the church and to the gospel. Now that’s a Merry Christmas!
Help us continue these Christmas programs by donating a new toy, raising funds and volunteering. Visit www.my.hfny.org for more information.
We will be collecting toys every Sunday in November after ALL Redeemer services. Bring your new toy and visit our Christmas table!
