City to City Sunday: Introducing the International Intensive Class of 2012

Did you know that Redeemer City to City has helped plant 200 churches in 40 cities in the past 10 years? Including 60 churches in New York City alone?

It’s hard to comprehend the figures, but every year our staff log thousands of miles traveling to Europe, Asia, Latin America and South Africa, meeting with and mentoring young pastors and network leaders who are starting new churches in their cities. And every fall we welcome another group of these leaders to New York City for five weeks of concentrated learning and gospel community in our International Intensive program.

On Sunday, September 23 we introduced this year’s class to the entire congregation at all Redeemer services for the first time.

They are:
Aaron Damiani, Chicago
Alex Deuscher, Berlin
Brad Morrice, Montreal
Bruce Clark, Toronto
Gelson Nogueira, Madrid
Leandro De Almeida, Santiago
Lee Eagelson, Belfast
Matthieu Klass, Brussels
Nick Mikhaluk, Kiev
Nicolas Kyalangalilwa, Democratic Republic of Congo
Olivier Engels, Brussels
Patricio Oyarzun, Santiago
Peter Roberts, Liverpool
Robert Miller, Melbourne
Samuel Lago, Santiago
Shane Rogerson, Melbourne
Stephan Pues, Frankfurt
Tim Swan, Sydney

The introduction was a chance to put names and faces to church planting in global cities, and to invite to the congregation to support the work of Redeemer City to City, which was founded as a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in 2000 and became a separate non-profit in 2008.

If you missed us that Sunday, you can give by mailing a check to Redeemer City to City, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1102, New York NY 10018; or give online at http://giving.redeemercitytocity.com/.

In our vibrant, diverse and challenging global cities, we need creative, entrepreneurial pastors from many denominations, centered in the gospel, which are working together to love and serve the city. Please pray for these leaders as they travel back to their cities to start new congregations and develop church planting networks.
