Hurricane Sandy Relief

Announcement: Hurricane Sandy Relief

In the days following Hurricane Sandy, we are so thankful for all the people in and around our community who have shown such amazing generosity and grace to those in need. For many in our church community and our neighbors, the effects of the storm have created extraordinary hardship and tremendous needs.

If you are part of the Redeemer community and have a specific material need as a result of the hurricane, you can call the Diaconate Helpline (917-719-0259) and leave a message and the deacon/deaconess-on-call will return your call as soon as possible, or you can send an email to [email protected].

Serve
If you live in or around NYC, we encourage you to serve. In an event like this the poor and marginalized are the people most affected. There will never be a better time to begin serving, so please consider volunteering with one of Hope for New York’s affiliate organizations who serve the city’s poor and most vulnerable populations.

Give
If you would like to donate to help those affected by the storm, Redeemer has also set up the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. These funds will be used by our Diaconate, HFNY affiliates and other organizations providing relief.

Pray
Lastly, pray for those who have experienced loss from the storm. As you know, there are parts of the city that will be recovering from devastation of the hurricane for many more weeks and months. Prayer is another way we can remain vigilant in the days and weeks ahead as victims begin the long process of recovery.
