Santiago

In 2020, Short-Term Missions will send a team to Santiago, Chile’s capital and largest city. Our host is Cristo Redentor Ñuñoa. We are looking forward to continuing a relationship with this vibrant church! In addition to serving our host, we are excited to offer many events to several Santiago churches in the Redeemer City to City Latin America network, an organizational network of about thirteen churches.

Some requested events we will organize and present include:

A relationship/Marriages conference. According to Pastor Francisco Calderon, “In our context we have a lot of families and we want to encourage them with the gospel.”

Faith and Work. “We need help to embrace our callings to serve the Lord in our place of work in a gospel and gracious way.” -Pastor Calderon

Outreach with arts. “We want to organize an outreach event related to arts. Our church is a community very connected to arts.” –Pastor Calderon

For community outreach, we potentially will work with elderly shut-ins, visit disabled children, and work with college students through their local RUF chapter. However, teammates will focus most on building relationships with the congregants of this network of churches. This will take the form of attending Community Groups, sharing meals with church youth and young adults, and exploring the city with congregants. We are in need of teammates with a wide variety of skills, as we will tailor projects and programs around teammates’ gifts. Our main goal is to fill our team with those willing to share their testimony with others, to get to know and encourage Christian brothers and sisters, and to learn about how God works in other countries. Come join us for our second trip to Santiago!
