Philippines

Our first-time missions trip to the Philippines in 2014 was the beginning of a vibrant relationship with Heroes Church of Manila, Philippines, who was our gracious host.

Heroes Church, a Redeemer City to City church plant, is based in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Manila, which is a recent metropolitan development by the local government. Impressive city planning in this area has attracted many young working professionals, international real estate investors, outsourcing businesses and ex-pats. This demographic and setting highly contrasts with the surrounding neighborhoods of metro Manila which are densely populated, traffic ridden, and consist of low-income and high-poverty level homes and families.

This is a very relational trip. A large portion of our time will be spent building relationships with the congregants of Heroes church. Previous trips have included sharing many of our meals with different Heroes members/teams, attending and hosting various Community Groups, hosting a Testimony and Game Night, as well as a Worship and Prayer night. We explore the city together, learn from each other, and grow together in the Body of Christ.

In the past four years we have geared the trip toward Faith & Work events, but this year we are planning on a slightly different approach. We want to be more flexible and personal by using the unique skill sets and/or passions of the team members to interact and be able to connect with the congregants of Heroes Church. We will continue to have Worship night at Tacloban and would greatly welcome musicians or performers.

This trip is a good fit for those with a heart for the people and culture of the Philippines, as well as those with the desire to encourage and build relationships with the congregants of Heroes Church. The team will stay in comfortable lodging which will be utilized for several of the congregant gatherings. If this interests you or if you have questions, please contact us!
