Redeemer Presbyterian Church

Renewing the city socially, spiritually and culturally

Generative Initiatives

The generative initiatives of Redeemer Counseling Services is the fulfillment of the second part of our vision statement:

It is our hope to train and provide resources to professional counselors and churches in our gospel-centered counseling approach. This approach integrates psychology with a biblical conceptual core for the purpose of contextualizing the care to each client.

Since we believe our approach is unique and restorative, it is our hope to equip other professional counselors and counseling centers in several ways, including training programs and curriculum.

The training programs and our core curriculum will be available in 2016. We will continue to add curriculum as it is developed.

Equipping Churches

Redeemer Counseling Services equips other churches to launch their own counseling ministries. An example of our generative approach in action is 2200 Arch Counseling Services in Philadelphia.

2200 Arch Counseling Services

Once a satellite office of Redeemer Counseling Services, 2200 Arch Counseling Services, became an independent counseling ministry in January 2013. Supported by several local churches in Philadelphia, it provides professional, biblically-based counseling for individuals, couples and families.

2200 Arch Counseling Services is located at the offices of

C. Erickson and Sons, Inc.

2200 Arch Street

Philadelphia, PA 19103

The office is easily accessible by public transportation (Bus #48, #7), all Trolley Lines (22nd/Market stop) and SEPTA Regional Rail. We are located one block north of Market, between 22nd and 23rd Streets. Street parking is available, and we are one block away from a parking lot.

They are committed to a Christian perspective in dealing with mental health issues, yet they are sensitive to perspectives of other belief systems.

In addition to the specialty areas highlighted in their profiles, all counselors are well-equipped to see individuals, families and couples with a wide variety of presenting issues. The counseling staff is also certified in the Prepare/Enrich Assessment for both couples and premarital counseling.
