Develop My Craft

Performance Workshops

Performance Workshops are opportunities for classical instrumentalists, singers and composers to try out new repertoire, premiere a new composition, or take a practice run for an audition or competition in a safe, supportive environment. Performance Workshops happen once a month (generally on the third Monday) at a home in Harlem. We have an hour to 90 minutes of music followed by dinner and conversation. If you would like to participate as a performer or simply to enjoy the music and the company, please RSVP to Heather Bixler at hbixler@nyc.rr.com.

Jazz Jam Sessions

Redeemer's jazz musicians meet monthly for a jam session at the Redeemer office. Drums are provided (please bring cymbals and sticks) and there is an amp. This is a great opportunity to connect with other jazz musicians in the church. To be added to the contact list for upcoming jazz jam sessions, email Tom Jennings at tom@redeemer.com.

Songwriters Workshops

Redeemer's songwriters meet quarterly to encourage one another in the development of musical and lyrical craft and a Christian worldview. Evenings are open to writers on all levels and the only requirement is to bring at least one original song in process. Occasionally songs from Songwriter workshops are used in corporate worship or other events. To learn more about the next workshop email Sean McClowry at sgmcclowry@hotmail.com.

Composers Projects

Classical composers at Redeemer occasionally work together to create concerts of commissioned new works. If you are a classical composer and would like to know more about these events, please email tom@redeemer.com.
