This list is compiled by Redeemer's Prayer Ministry. If you know of a group which is not here, we'd love to hear of it! The group can be a non Redeemer group but must have a Redeemer person involved in it.

If you have a desire to pray for a people group or issue that is not listed, let us know that too. We desire to link people together of like prayer interests. Please contact us at prayer@redeemer.com.

Christians in Finance in NYC

Purpose: Praying for Christians in financial service jobs to live out the gospel within their vocations & for the Financial Services Ministry. For more information on this Faith & Work ministry, go to www.faithandwork.org/finance.php Note: if you work in the industry, you can send your prayer requests and praises to finservicesprayer@redeemer.com. They will be held confidentially.

When/Where: In person, 9-9:30pm after the Financial Services Ministry Fellowship meeting, usually the 4th Monday of the month. Virtually, prayer team members commit to praying for FSM for fifteen minutes each week. Each month a strategic prayer request is shared by email to guide prayer. Members of the prayer team are also encouraged to get together for weekly, corporate prayer with one another.

Kingdom Prayer for NYC & Its Ministries

Purpose: General intercessory prayer for the city / its ministries, as the Holy Spirit leads

When/Where: 6:30 PM on 1st Tuesday of the month; Roosevelt Island

North Korea

Purpose: Pray for the people and government of North Korea.

When/Where: 7:30pm, one Tuesday evening / month; midtown location.

Isaiah 58 Prayer Group for people with AIDS/HIV

Purpose: To share the love of Christ for the people who have AIDS/HIV. We meet, sing praises, read bible verses, share any concerns and issues, and then pray for these concerns and issues that are personal and the people with AIDS; especially the residents at Bailey House, a residential AIDS ministry.

When/Where: 6:30pm on 1st Thursday of the month; Neighborhood Church of Greenwich Village, 269 Bleeker street (bet. 7th and 6th Ave)

Human/Sex Trafficking: NYC Focus

Purpose: In every country in the world, including ours, men, women and children are being sold into sexual slavery and labor exploitation. Join us as we pray for the victims, the abusers, the modern day abolitionists, and an end to the injustice. Prayer will consistently cover Restore, the first residential program for women out of this background in NYC, which is being launched out of Hope For NY this fall/winter.

When/Where: The following Tuesday evenings: Nov 20, Dec 11, Jan 8. 7:30-8:30pm. Redeemer offices, 1359 Broadway, 4th floor, Exec Pastor Conference Room.

Hephzibah House Kingdom Prayer for NYC

Purpose: To pray for the needs of the city and its people, churches and ministries. Bring a ministry or Kingdom concern with you if desired. Cover sectors of NY such as schools, government, business, arts, police/fire depts., etc.

When/Where: 2-4pm, 2nd Sunday of the month; Hephzibah House, 51 W. 75th St (between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West). Starts on October 14 & runs through May 08.

prayforthecity.com: Praying for the Good of NYC

Purpose: To encourage prayer for the city from believers of all denominations and locations. There are resources on the site to help guide your prayers if desired. Inspired in part by the Fulton Street revival of 150 years ago, the site launched on Sep 23, 2007 at noon, exactly 150 years after the first Fulton Street noon day prayer meeting. God used this prayer meeting to ignite revival in the city, which spread to other states and countries. Although it is not affiliated with Redeemer, the site was developed by two young men who attend Redeemer.

Prayer Walking NYC's Neighborhoods: "Pray & Break Bread" series

Purpose: To saturate a variety of neighborhoods in the city in prayer. These prayer walks are sponsored by the City Seminary of New York / Westminster Masters in Urban Ministry program. Students from the program will be hosting the walks in the neighborhood they live/work in. There is communal scripture reading, prayer walking and tasting cuisine of the neighborhood together.
