11. Why does Redeemer offer so many Getaways?

1. What’s a typical Getaway like?
Our Getaways at Trinity Lodge include the following features: 3-days, 2-nights at an elegant lodge on the Housatonic River in the Berkshire Mountains.
Five gourmet meals, beverages and snacks.
Worship services with a contemporary worship band and a Getaway speaker.
Hiking, tennis, basketball, ping pong, billiards and other recreational activities. The quaint town of West Cornwall with its Covered Bridge and shops is a short walk from the lodge.

2. What will the accommodations be like?
A modern hotel-style room with private bath. Both singles and doubles are available.

3. I’m new to Redeemer. Will I get lost in the crowd?
Not unless you seal yourself up in your room! We specifically design our Getaways to build new relationships. People on our Getaways have a reputation of being warm and open, and we guarantee you’ll walk away knowing at least a dozen new people. We’ll assign a Redeemer roommate if you don’t have one.

4. How will I grow in my faith?
In addition to building community, you will participate in three worship services throughout the weekend, which will include a Getaway speaker and music by a contemporary worship band. Each of these sessions will be followed by a brief time of discussion and sharing in a smaller group setting.

5. Are there any scholarships available?
There are scholarships available for Getaways granted on a needs basis. In general, scholarships of up to 50% of the Getaway fee will be granted. Scholarship forms are available upon request. Please e-mail getaways@redeemer.com if you would like to apply. All applicants will be notified of their status as soon as possible.

6. What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel your registration 21 days prior to the Getaway, you will receive a refund less a $25.00 cancellation fee. If you cancel with less than 21 days before the Getaway, you will not be eligible for a refund. However, if a replacement can be found for your spot, you will receive a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee.

7. Can I come for part of the time?
Day guest and part-time guests will only be considered on a case-by-case basis. Registration for day and part-time guests will close one week prior to the Getaway. Payment must be received before the Getaway. If you register as a day or part-time guest and are unable to attend, you are responsible for the fees incurred to Redeemer.

8. How many people can I expect to be there?
We usually get between 60 – 70 people.

9. I don’t have a car. Will transportation be provided?
Yes! Charter buses will be used to provide rides both to and from the Getaway site. The cost for these buses is already included in your registration fee.

10. Will I be stuck indoors all day, listening to some speaker drone on?
Nope! There is a ton of free time at our Getaways so you can go hiking, play sports or just snooze under a tree by the river. The quaint town of West Cornwall with its Covered Bridge and shops is just a short walk from our lodge. Plus, our speakers never drone!

11. Why does Redeemer offer so many Getaways?
Apart from Ministry specific Getaways (i.e. Couples Getaways), Redeemer Getaways are designed to foster community and to help incorporate newcomers to the congregation. In general, Getaways are very well attended and there is often a long waiting list of those wishing to attend.

If you regularly attend Getaways, we ask that you consider bringing a friend along who may be new to Redeemer, or has not yet had a chance to participate. Thank you for your helpful consideration.
