Redeemer Support Group Network

Redeemer Support Groups is a ministry of Redeemer Counseling Services that seeks to provide safe, compassionate contexts for people to share and to receive support in regards to issues such as grief, addictions, sexual or emotional abuse, eating and body-image, divorce, and post-abortion recovery.

If you are dealing with any of the areas above, you may often feel alone in your struggles. You may not have been able to share just how hard it's been, even with those close to you. This is the purpose for support groups -- we believe there is tremendous power in sharing our stories with others. And even if you're not ready to share very much, there is great comfort in listening to others who are going through similar experiences.

Most of all, in support groups we help point each other to God by confessing our need for Him in our suffering. We believe true "recovery" takes place not because of a program, but because of a Person -- Jesus Christ. The meetings, testimonies, and teaching have one ultimate purpose: to help participants experience "renewal" through the gospel, for "if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Cor. 5:17)

Note: We are developing a "Further Resources" section for group members, faciliators, and care-givers. In addition, please see the Redeemer ministries under "Care" and "Connect" (in the top bar menu) for other relevant resources. Please keep in mind that our support groups are designed as temporary contexts of supportive care that come alongside the primary avenues of pastoral care at Redeemer, the Fellowship Groups. They also supplement other forms of pastoral care such as counseling and the diaconate. For more info on support groups' role in the congregational care picture, see FAQ.
