Congregational Seminars

Financial Stewardship Seminars

The Financial Stewardship Ministry offers seminars, small groups and workshops on a variety of topics. This ministry is a partnership between Stewardship, Counseling, Diaconate and Center for Faith and Work.

In the Budgeting from a Biblical Perspective classes you will learn how to apply the gospel to your finances, develop a personal Spending Plan, use different record-keeping systems, and most importantly, you will discover how being financially faithful can help you become financially free. This is offered in a one day format or 4 weekday nights.

The Debt Reduction Workshop (2.5 hours on a weeknight) is about how one can get out of debt and stay out of debt forever. During the workshop, you are invited to begin developing your Debt Reduction Plan as well as take a look at what the Bible says about debt and about money management in general.

Seminars on special financial topics are also offered periodically throughout the year (such as investing, portfolio management, income tax assistance).

Sexual Abuse Recovery Seminar and Retreats

This one day seminar is geared towards women and men affected directly or indirectly by childhood and adolescent sexual abuse (survivors, loved ones, friends of survivors, leaders ministering survivors). Every year, the Diaconate and Counseling Center promote a 3 day retreat in the NYC area for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. This year's dates are Oct. 22-24. The retreat focuses on biblical ways to move beyond the abuse. For more information on this retreat please call (800) 713-7837 or go to www.committedtofreedom.org.

Theological SOGF Class

Each year the School of Gospel Foundations offers Foundations of the Reformed Faith. This class provides you with an overview of the theology taught in the Westminster Confession of Faith (WCF), the Westminster Larger Catechism (WLC) and the Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC). For those interested in serving as elder, deacon or deaconess, we recommend you attend this class. A variation of this class (offered just for officer candidates) is required for all officer candidates.
