Assessment Center

Redeemer Counseling Services offers a selection of psychometric assessments. Fees for each assessment vary. All assessments require either individual or group feedback sessions. The number of feedback sessions will depend on the type of inventory used and each client’s particular needs. Please note that fees are subject to change.

Strong Interest Inventory (SII)
The SII is one of the most widely used career development instruments in the world. It generates a comprehensive assessment of your interests among a broad range of occupations, work and leisure activities and educational subjects. The Strong is available alongside the MBTI as the primary tools for the first stage in career exploration. Participants can take both assessments and receive either an individual follow-up session, or a follow-up workshop (the Where Do I Go Next? Workshop). For more information, and to register online, visit our Career Direction Services page.

Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
One of the most respected personality inventories available, the MBTI helps individuals understand the normal differences in the way people think, communicate, and interact. The assessment determines preferences on 4 scales: Extraversion-Introversion (how do I get energized?), Sensing-Intuition (how do I gather data?), Thinking-Feeling (how do I make decisions?), and Judging-Perceiving (how do I approach life?). Understanding the dynamic interaction of these preferences for each of the 16 personality “types” can improve one’s effectiveness and satisfaction at work, and enhance interactions and relationships with others.

At RCS, the MBTI can be used for a variety of purposes and formats. It can be taken together with the Strong Interest Inventory for the initial stage of career exploration, or it can be taken by itself to process deeper issues in professional or personal development (see the Career Direction Services page).

*MBTI for Couples – The MBTI can also be taken by couples and used as the basis for couple’s counseling at RCS. Couples can use the assessment results to explore growth areas in communication, conflict-resolution, and other personality dynamics. Click on the MBTI for Couples page to register online. Please note that some couples choose to use the MBTI as a follow-up tool to the Prepare/Enrich Program (see below), and the two inventories are complementary.

Prepare/Enrich Program
Prepare/Enrich is a customized couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple's strength and growth areas. Based on a couple's assessment results, a trained counselor provides a number of feedback sessions through which couples:
  • Explore strength and growth areas
  • Strengthen communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Identify and manage major stressors
  • Develop a more balanced relationship
  • Explore family of origin issues
  • Discuss financial planning and budgeting
  • Establish personal, couple and family goals
  • Understand and appreciate personality differences
Over 2.5 million couples have taken the Prepare/Enrich and it is one of the most extensively researched couple assessment tools in the world, with high levels of reliability and validity found in clinical studies. At RCS, the Prepare/Enrich can be taken by couples who are dating, engaged or married. Please click here for the Prepare/Enrich Inventory page, to purchase the inventories online, and to download the required intake forms.
