Baptism
Adult Baptism:
If you want to be baptized, discuss this with your interview officers. This will allow you to be scheduled for
baptism on the day you take your membership vows in front of the congregation.
Infant & Child Baptism:
- Infants
Redeemer will baptize your infant when you take your membership vows. Yes - same date, same service. And, yes,
grandparents and godparents may accompany you onstage.
When you receive a "Welcome, New Redeemer Member" message and confirm the date for your membership vows, include
your baby's full name (first, middle, last) and birth date with your confirmation. (It is OK to give us this info
to Ramona at any time; you don't have to wait until after your interview.)
If you are already a member, e-mail ramona@redeemer.com for a schedule of infants-only baptism dates.
- Older Children
Redeemer will baptize your older child after he or she has made a made a profession of faith.
There is a 4-week Communicants class offered two times a year. For information about this class, contact Brent Bounds at
brent@redeemer.com.
- Location Exception
Redeemer cannot perform baptisms at the 5 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. West Side services at First Baptist Church. Thus,
if you or your children are due to be baptized and a WSPM is your regular service, please consider switching to
another service for this occasion.
